When I lived in Nevada, the winters didn’t get very cold. My family also lived about 30 minutes away from Lake Mead, the largest freshwater reservoir in America, so I grew up going to the lake all the time. Because of the higher temperatures, my family spent a few Christmases mornings surfing on Lake Mead. It was still cold, but I’d wear a wetsuit, and it’s become one of my favorite Christmas memories.
